The prominent music director and music composer Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi died at 92. He was suffering from a lung infection and various age-related diseases in the last few days. He was admitted to Sujay Hospital. His condition was severe. On 19th August 2019 at 9.30pm he died of a heart attack.
Famous Ghazal singer Talat Aziz acknowledged the news that Khayyam was on the ventilator for the last few days. His funeral was completed yesterday at the Four Bungalows Cemetery in Mumbai.
He was the Creator of the music of famous films like Umrao Jaan, Kabhi Kabhie. He won three Filmfare awards also for these films. He started his career at the age of 17. He was also awarded the third-highest civilian honor, Padma Bhusan by the government of India. He was better known as “Khayyam”.
