We all know the story of how Newton discovered gravity under an apple tree. Though the story may not be true the effect of gravity is a fact. If we throw a thing upward it comes downward again. And it is all due to gravity. The effect of gravity works on us, on everything in the universe equally.

But, you will be surprised if you came to know that some places on the earth behave against the law of gravity! Let’s know.

Hoover Dam:

It is situated in Arizona, US. It is famous for the production of hydroelectricity. People say gravity does not work here properly. If you pour water from your bottle into this damn you will see the water flies upward instead of going down! It is normally believed that here in this place, the function of gravity gets distorted due to the huge construction.

Mount Aragats:

Mount Aragats is situated in Armenia. It is also a well-known place where gravity seems to create mischief. Annually thousands of people came here only to see how their cars automatically run upward on the road. Water-streams also act similarly.

Inverted waterfall:

The inverted waterfall is an upside-down waterfall. The oxymoron is very natural here because water does not fall in this waterfall. Rather it flows upward. The Waterfall is situated in Chile. People in large number love to come here.

Magnetic Hill of Ladakh:

A hill in Ladakh is called Magnetic Hill for its unnatural behavior in case of gravitational law. Here, if you stop your car in neutral it itself starts running at a speed of 20kmph. The hill is located in India. If you keep any round object on the road like a water bottle it rolls upward.

The mystery Spot of Santa Cruz:

It is a gravitational anomaly. It is situated in California, the US. The Mystery Spot was discovered in 1939 by a group of surveyors and opened to the public in 1940. It is a circular area of effect around 150 feet or 46 meters in diameter. Within the Mystery Spot, you will be stunned as your perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned.

What we discussed above may sound these are all against the law of Physic. But it is not true. All these happen due to the structure of the land-form. What we see as a down is actually up and vice versa. A communication creates and we cannot match what we see and with what we are habituated to think. An optical illusion is born out of this. Similarly, the water of those waterfall flows up due to the strong gust of wind. The shape of land or the construction produces all these.
