The first year after a baby’s birth is a very crucial time and parents should be more careful about the health of the baby. You should always keep an eye on what they are eating, especially at this time. The first six months after birth, the baby should not eat anything except breast milk. But, after six months, when the child is introduced to other foods parents should be very careful about what should be given and what not. Here are baby food tips.
Know the four foods that can never be given to a baby in the first year after birth.
1️⃣ Chocolate, Cola and Candy:
Do not give refined sugar to your child until s/he is one year old. The sweetness they need for their body is collected naturally from sweet foods and carbohydrates. Refined sugar can lead to serious health problems like baby-tooth decay, OBCT, diabetes etc. Chocolate, cola and candy can never be given to a child unless they are at least one year old.
2️⃣ Raw Salt:
Do not feed your baby raw-salt until s/he is at least one year old. Breast milk contains sufficient sodium. So they have no need to eat salt separately. Raw salt at this age can cause stones in the kidney, high blood pressure, dehydration and bone loss.
3️⃣ Honey:
After birth, we have the custom of giving honey to the baby. But honey should not be fed to children until they are at least one year of age. Honey can cause bacteria attack in baby’s body which can lead to death.
5️⃣ Cow-milk:
Cow-milk is full of various nutrients. But for children younger than one year, it is not at all beneficial. A small baby cannot digest the dietary ingredients that cow’s milk has. It can lead to serious physical problems.
